Born
Derek R. Audette on June 16th, 1971 in Hull, Quebec, Canada.
While
I have moved around almost constantly throughout my life,
changing residence more than eleven times before the age
of sixteen alone, I have always lived within the city
of Ottawa, or somewhere in the surrounding rural area.
I
am completely driven and consumed by a strong need to
simply 'create' in almost any capacity which is available
to me. My need is simply to bring beauty into being. I
have been a professional musician for more than a decade,
being completely self-taught and proficient with 5 separate
instruments, much of my time is spent playing and writing
music. I have also, in the past, operated a small, yet
well equipped professional recording studio which has
provided service to many well established Ottawa area
musicians.
I
enjoy, and find great satisfaction with painting in abstract
styles, creating digital art, photography, various forms
of graphic design, and writing — with my first book
being published when I was 28 years old.
Along
with this, I own and operate a small marketing company
which has enjoyed various levels of success throughout
the past six years, and over the last few years I have
been responsible for launching and operating many various
web sites such as: OttawaMusicScene.Com,
OttawaArts.Com,
the now defunct: AlternateNews.Com and a few other successful
marketing, arts, entertainment and information related
web site resources.
